Don’t just visit Italy, taste it !!!

Thrill your taste buds with only the best, freshly made products of the Sorrentine peninsula.

We start this exciting tour with a visit to a local family run 'extra virgin olive oil' factory. Breathtaking views over Sorrento as we take a stroll through orchards of olive, lemon and orange trees, you will be surrounded by the perfume of the different blossoms. Enjoy an in-depth demonstration on the production of Olive Oil from the olive on the tree to the bottle. Followed by a delicious tasting of this fine Extra Virgin Olive Oil on freshly baked bread.

On our way to the next stop, the mozzarella and cheese makers, we stop for a fantastic photo opportunity over the two bay’s, the bay of Salerno and the bay of Naples, for a bird's eye view of the famous Amalfi Drive.
You will be welcomed with open arms by the family Marciano at the cheese farm, who have over 50 years of experience. After touring the farm, watch the making of mozzarella (a cheese that originated from the Naples area), participate in a wonderful explanation of the entire process from the 1st drop of milk to the final product, which you will taste with lunch…
LUNCH ... Time for a light lunch, included in price, set in peaceful grounds of the family run farm. Sit back and relax with antipasta of local 'in season' vegetables, salami then followed by freshly made pasta. Tasting the fresh mozzarella you have just witnessed being made. All ingredients from the area. Lunch is served with local wine and soft drinks, followed by Limoncello a local liquor used as a digestive drink by the Italians, and a great way to freshen your taste buds for our next stop !!! ....
Wine tasting at a local winery, full demonstration, visit to the cellar and tasting of up to 9 wines. A hobby adored by generation after generation turned in to a successful family business, they now supply most of the hotels and restaurants in Sorrento. The newest addition to their line is the DOC 2006 red and white.
We now head into the heart of Sorrento for Italy’s famous GELATO (similar to ice cream but not so frozen, and a lot tastier!!) as they say 'no visit to Italy is the same without gelato’. Mario, TV personality, 3rd generation master of the famous Sorrentine Gelato will be happy to show you the secrets. He has recently been added in Rick Steves tour guide to Italy 2013/14/15 as a must see !!. He will create fresh Gelato with you including lots of tasting during the process.

A perfect end to a day tasting the delights of Southern Italy.

My family and I (5 adults and a 7 year old) took the Gastronomic tour in early October. It exceeded our expectations by leaps and bounds! We had an amazing day filled with wonderful people and food. Our tour guide Giuseppe was kind, welcoming, knowledgable, helpful and genuine. We truly enjoyed his company and spending the day with him. As for the food the olive oil, gelato, wine and limoncello were all outstanding. I don't think I could pick a favorite. I won't ruin the surprise about how elaborate the tastings were. Just know you will be stuffed when you leave.

Although delicious it was not just about tasting food. We met the owners of each place and learned about the history of their business and what it meant to them. In many cases we met their wives, their mothers and their children (and dogs!). We got a real feel for what makes them so passionate about what they do. They were all extremely welcoming and willing to let us peek into a day in their lives. Something we truly appreciated. It was a tour we will never forget.
Thank you Sarah for being so responsive and setting up this great day. And thank you Giuseppe for sharing where you call home. - The DeGaetano Family

The tour itinerary shown above is conducted by an English speaking driver who has been trained to give a tour along the route. They will share their knowledge and passion for the area, stop for the best photo opportunities and point out the places of interest. Your driver is not allowed by Italian law to guide you around the historical areas, monuments and towns where you stop.

The tour itinerary for shore excursions is based on cruise ships arriving in at, or before 08:30 and sailing at, or after 6:30pm.

For ships that sail before 6:30pm please email us first so we can work out the changes to the itinerary to fit your ships schedule before setting up the tour. We will then add the changes to the notes section for fellow cruisers to read before they join the group.

We always base the tour itinerary around the ships schedule with number one priority to get you back to the port 1.5 / 2 hours before sail time.
